Built in 1974, Hampstead Hospital was the first private psychiatric hospital licensed by the State of New Hampshire. As a fully licensed and accredited 111-bed private specialty hospital, we serve the psychiatric and chemical dependency needs of patients and their families throughout the New England area. Located on 100 acres of rolling hills, woodlands, and landscaped grounds, Hampstead Hospital is less than one hour from Boston and the seacoast, in rural southern New Hampshire. Our psychiatric and chemical dependency services for children, adolescents, and adults include: Inpatient Hospitalization for acute psychiatric illness Adult Psychiatry Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Child Developmental Disorders Adolescent and Young Adult Developmental Disorders Inpatient Chemical Dependency Detoxification for adults (Including Buprenorphrine detoxification) Partial Hospitalization as a step-down from our inpatient treatment to provide treatment services that will assist patients in their transition back into the community Intensive Outpatient Chemical Dependency (Quitting Time Program), with options for daytime or evening treatment programs for adults

From Route 495
Take Exit 51B to Route 125 North. Follow into Plaistow, NH 2.5 miles and turn left at light onto East Road. Follow 4 miles and the hospital will be on the right.
From NH Seacoast and Maine
Take Route 95 South to Exit 59 (Route 495 South to Worcester). Follow directions for "Route 495" above.
From Route 93
Take Exit 3, Route 111 East. Pass through Salem, NH, cross over Route 28. Pass Route 121 and take a right at the next traffic light onto East Road. The hospital will be 0.3 miles on the left.
